Export charts and practice pages

Choose SVG, PDF or JSON, check the result and preserve editable work when a download fails.

Choose a format for the next task

Use SVG for a scalable diagram, PDF for a practice sheet and JSON for an editable collection. The three formats serve different purposes. A picture can be convenient beside an instrument, while a project file preserves selections you want to reopen.

Review the current example before exporting. Confirm the root, quality or scale, octave, inversion and labels. A file is most useful when its title and note list describe the same selection.

SVG keeps a diagram sharp

An SVG stores the diagram as shapes and text, so it can scale cleanly for a document or presentation. Include note names or degrees according to the comparison you want to show. Root and bass information should stay readable without depending only on color.

The SVG is a reference image. It does not contain playback or recreate the site’s editing controls. If you want to revise the musical selection later, keep the JSON project alongside the image.

PDF prepares a practice reference

Select the paper size and available layout options, then check what the export includes. A practice sheet should preserve its title, exact notes, degree labels and tuning context. Longer collections may need more than one page.

Check the downloaded PDF before printing or sharing it. Confirm that every diagram and label is visible and that the final page is complete. Printer margins and scaling choices can alter the paper result even when the file itself is correct.

JSON preserves editable work

Download JSON to keep an editable backup of a collection. Importing a supported file lets you review its contents and add a separate collection. It is the useful choice when moving your own practice work between devices.

JSON is a plain-text file. Anyone who receives it can read the collection name and included content. Choose names and practice notes you are comfortable sharing, and keep a backup before deleting browser data.

If a download fails

Wait for the export result before closing the page. If the browser does not show a file, check its downloads list and any blocked-download message. A successful on-page preparation still relies on the browser completing the download.

If a diagram or PDF cannot be created, your collection remains available. Try the export again, or download JSON to preserve the editable work. If a required font cannot load, resolve the connection or font error before relying on the visual export.

Share the reference responsibly

The examples supplied with ChordLilt are original exercises and calculated note references. They do not include commercial recordings or song excerpts. Adding your own names or notes does not grant rights to material you bring from elsewhere.

Files do not contain audio. Keep the source collection when you want to play the example again, and use a clear filename that describes the root, quality or scale.

  1. Check the selected notes and display labels.
  2. Choose SVG, PDF or JSON for the intended use.
  3. Review the result and confirm the browser downloaded it.
  4. Keep JSON as well when you need an editable backup.
