Ready when you are.

Ready to play. Sound starts when you press Play.

Set a comfortable pace

Choose a tempo in beats per minute and the number of beats in a group. At 60 BPM, one beat lasts one second; at 120 BPM it lasts half a second. Start slowly enough to play the selected passage without rushing.

Hear where the group begins

An accented first beat can help you count a repeating group. A visual beat indicator provides a second cue, and you can mute the sound if you only need the display. Sound begins only after you press Start.

Practice one small change

Try four steady beats on one note, then change to another note at the beginning of the next group. When you can repeat the change without losing the count, increase the tempo slightly. If the change becomes untidy, return to the previous pace.

  1. Set the tempo and beat grouping.
  2. Start and count one full group before playing.
  3. Stop when changing your exercise or when you need a quiet pause.
